Bartenders

Concessions – Looking for friendly, focused, customer service oriented individuals who are prompt and punctual to work as a Bartender at The Carolina Theatre. Hours are very limited part-time, mostly nights and weekends based on the events calendar. Duties include taking orders and serving drinks promptly and accurately. All levels of experience welcome. Starting $11.00- $13.00 depending on experience. Tips are shared with other bartenders on shift.

Duties include:

  • Bar maintenance- ability to maintain a clean and organized space
  • Bar set up and take down
  • Cash register experience preferred (handling cash, card, and drawer reconciliation)
  • Abiding by North Carolina state liquor laws
  • Memory retention
  • Ability to lift over 20 pounds
  • Thrive in a fast paced environment

Assistant Technical Director

The Carolina Theatre of Greensboro, Inc. seeks an ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR. This is a full-time, year-round staff position responsible for assisting with all aspects of production and facility needs for the Carolina Theatre and the Crown events, and will report directly to the Technical Director.

ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

The Assistant Technical Director is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the life safety systems, the security of the building, maintenance oversight, and continued restoration of all sound, lighting, mechanical, rigging, and other related technical systems used in support of all events occurring in The Carolina Theatre facilities. The Assistant Technical Director reports to the Technical Director, with input from the Executive Director and the Facilities Committee.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safety - maintain all life safety systems such as: exit lights and paths, fire extinguishers, perma-lighting (Interior and exterior)
  • Event Readiness - ensure equipment and systems are functional and operational as needed.
  • Maintenance - repair, replace or request help as needed to "clear the white board" and keep inventory in working order; assist in scheduled maintenance as needed.
  • Coordinate janitorial staff. Coordinate landscaping efforts and contractor work on theatre property.
  • Assist in training of all staff as needed for use of position appropriate equipment.
  • Venue rep - act as on-site technical liaison between theatre and client/artist as needed for events.
  • CT Presents - work all CT Presents events as coordinated with the Technical Director
  • Improvements - recommend and in some cases, execute long and short-term improvements to the facility.
  • Serve as back-up to the Technical Director as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field.
  • At least one year of professional technical theatre experience preferred.
  • Skilled in the use of computers and related software applications.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and organizational skills, polished public manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with clients, volunteers, sub-contractors and a diverse group of staff
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in sound and lighting systems, equipment and design, with basic lighting design a priority.
  • Must be able to prioritize, be flexible and adaptable.
  • Consistent and dependable work ethic.
  • Should possess high energy, a sense of humor, and grace under pressure.

The Carolina Theatre of Greensboro operates with a small staff structure and all staff are required to wear multiple hats. Successful candidates must be willing to complete duties as assigned by the Technical Director or Executive Director.

Annual salary $38-45k commensurate with experience. Benefits include Medical Insurance, Paid Holidays, Sick Leave and a 403(b) Retirement Plan

    Marketing Assistant

    The Carolina Theatre of Greensboro, Inc. is looking for a MARKETING ASSISTANT. This part-time, year-round staff position involves supporting all marketing and promotional activities for the Carolina Theatre and the Crown events. The Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Marketing Director to ensure effective communication and promotion of our events and services.

    MARKETING ASSISTANT

    The Carolina Theatre of Greensboro is a vibrant, historic performing arts theater dedicated to showcasing diverse productions, events, and programs that entertain and inspire audiences of all ages. We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Marketing Assistant to join our team and support our marketing efforts.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    ⦁ Assist in the implementation of marketing strategies to promote theatre productions, events, and programs.

    ⦁ Create and distribute promotional materials, including posters, flyers, and digital assets.

    ⦁ Manage the theatre's social media accounts by scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and monitoring comments and messages.

    ⦁ Provide administrative support, such as organizing files, maintaining contact lists, and scheduling meetings or appointments.

    ⦁ Assist in updating and maintaining the theatre's website with relevant content and event information.

    ⦁ Assist in coordinating advertising campaigns across various channels, including print, digital, and social media.

    ⦁ Support the analysis of marketing performance metrics and audience feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts.

    ⦁ Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure marketing initiatives align with organizational goals and timelines.

    ⦁ Take on additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Marketing Director to contribute to the overall success of the marketing team.

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

    ⦁ Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred).

    ⦁ Prior experience in marketing, advertising, or related roles is a plus.

    ⦁ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    ⦁ Proficiency in social media platforms, Canva, WordPress, and Microsoft Office Suite.

    ⦁ Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

    ⦁ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    ⦁ Passion for the arts and commitment to promoting community engagement through theatre.

    The Carolina Theatre of Greensboro operates with a small staff structure and all staff are required to wear multiple hats. Successful candidates must be willing to complete duties as assigned by the Marketing Director or Executive Director.

    This is a part-time hourly position budgeted for up to 20 hours per week, with the rate of pay commensurate with skills and experience.
