Jayne Trinette and the Ma Jestik Souls Band In the Crown

Jayne Trinette is a Broadway actress and singer known for her performances as Shenzi and Rafilki on the National Tour of Disney’s THE LION KING, Roberta in the Off Broadway musical SISTAS and Zawadi At Walt Disney World’s FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING. Other credits include THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND (Best Actress In A Musical, Nominee-BroadwayWorld Detroit), AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’, and SMOKEY JOE’S CAFE, FENCES, CAROLINE, OR CHANGE, DREAMGIRLS and HAIRSPRAY. Jayne has toured Europe in MAHALIA SING SISTER SING as YOUNG MAHALIA and as a Featured Vocalist in the GLORY GOSPEL SINGERS OF New York.

With a BFA Degree in Professional Theatre from NC A&T, Jayne shares her education and time with school age children and adults. Her volunteer efforts have been truly rewarding and the response of the students have applauded her motivational teaching style. Jayne encourages actors to achieve audition mastery through her Masterclass, “The Spotlight Experience”.

Music has always played an important role in the development of Jayne‘s artistry. Gospel, R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz, Blues, Country, are few genres that provided the foundation for her talent. Jayne has shared stages with artists Yolanda Adams, Kurt Carr, Tramaine Hawkins, Tom Browne, Norman Connors, Marion Meadows, Angela Bofill, Tonya Pinkins and Anika Noni Rose. A strong focus on creativity motivated Jayne to write and direct short plays for Youth, Church Organizations and Benefit concerts. These productions helped raise funds for Keep Arts In Schools and Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids Charities. Ms. Trinette is the creator of The Conscious Actor Workshop and has trained actors for THE TAMPA BAY THEATRE FESTIVAL and WILMINGTON BALLET.
