BerkStar was founded by Tony Berkley in March 2010. When asked what sort of music BerkStar plays, Tony says, “My response was to describe the time when music was the sound track to everyone’s life. Whether it was family picnics, ball games, religious events graduations etc., we pretty much listened to the same music that was played on the radio. Everyone knew the number one song on America’s Top 40 with Kasey Kasem on Monday morning and was the hot topic of talk in high school study hall. We need to get back to those times of harmony when music brought us all together.”
BerkStar was put together to “Knit” everyone together through music. Over time, Tony found what he calls, “the most sympathetic group of musicians to accomplish this mission.” People are hungry for good music and BerkStar is always exploring new ways to bring the audience just that by playing covers of timeless gems all adore – but throwing in an original flavor!
Playing a blend of Funky/Blues,Rock, Pop, and Dance which can all be summed up as Groove Music, the eclectic members of the band create a common ground for one another and their audience. At any given moment their music can transport you to that place and time where everything is nice. The next moment can be rough and full of angst! So give yourself a taste of what BerkStar is: Good music that grooves – and just let “The Beat Move Ya!”
