The Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program begins its yearlong celebration of Duke Ellington’s 120th year with “Transblucency: The Music of Duke Ellington”. Jazz Ensembles I and II, under the direction of Chad Eby and Thomas Heflin, will present a cross-section of Ellington’s most-revered works as well as lesser-know, masterpieces, meticulously re-assembled from the original recordings by UNCG’s faculty and students. With thousands of compositions to his name, Ellington’s output was without peer in American music history.
Tickets: $12 for Adults and $9 for Seniors, Students, and Military.
UNCG Students pay $6 at the door with a valid photo ID.
NC sales tax is included in the price of each ticket.
Everyone must have a ticket.
There is an additional $3.50 per ticket web fee for Internet purchases; call 336-333-2605 to avoid those charges.
Guests may also opt to have their tickets mailed to them for a $1 post fee, or can pick up their tickets in will call for no additional charge.
