Jeff ‘The Dude’ Leboswki (Jeff Bridges) is mistaken for millionaire Jeffrey Lebowski – known in certain circles as “The Big Lebowski”. The mistake explains why he’s roughed up and has his precious rug peed upon. In search of recompense, The Dude tracks down his namesake, who offers him a job. Big’s wife Bunny has been kidnapped and he needs a reliable bagman. So The Dude sets out to find the abducted trophy wife, aided and hindered by his pals Walter Sobchak (John Goodman), a Vietnam vet, and Donny (Steve Buscemi), master of stupidity.
Directed by Joel Coen. Starring Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi, David Huddleston, and John Turturro. 1998. Rated R. 1 hour, 57 minutes.
