Lola(Franka Potente) is a young woman whose boyfriend Manni (Moritz Bleibtreu) works as a runner for a mobster, picking up and dropping off cash and drugs.  One fateful day, Manni leaves a bag full of his employer’s money on a subway train. Frantic, he calls her and says that unless he can come up with the money in the next 20 minutes, he’ll have to rob a grocery store to get it. Lola heads to her father’s bank to see if he can help her. At this point, the film shows three possible outcomes of Lola’s attempt to get the money – not all of which necessarily result in a happy ending. Directed by Tom Tykwer. 1998. Rated R. 1 hour, 20 minutes.
