PTJO – The Music of Wayne Shorter

The Piedmont Triad Jazz Orchestra (“PTJO”) is based in Greensboro, yet boasts a bevy of jazz talent from all across North Carolina. Collectively, the band will pay tribute to the music of saxophonist, band leader and composer Wayne Shorter.

An alumnus of the bands of Horace Silver Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Shorter ventured solo, only to later form one of the most iconic fusion bands of all time, Weather Report. Shorter’s mastery of both horn and pen brings the PTJO to honor his music through original arrangements written by PTJO band members, featured in this special concert on March 25.
