Greensboro local Johanna Breed is excited to perform music from her neo-soul pop EP “Is It Too Late?” after its release on Nov 9, 2018. Her band will feature talkbox, horns, multi-layered vocals and more from an array of talented musicians delivering an energizing performance. Opening the show is vocal powerhouse SunQueen Kelcey performing with her band the Soular Flares bringing impressive vocal range, killer guitar riffs, and smooth bass grooves in a blend of soul, folk and hip-hop. Johanna Breed is a singer/songwriter/pianist living in Greensboro, NC and is excited to release her debut EP “Is It Too Late?” on local label Ritual Fire Records November 9th, 2018. She calls her blended genre “future soul,” combining beats, horns, piano, and multi-layered vocals. Favorite artists include Jamie Lidell, Jazmine Sullivan, Prince, and the Talking Heads. Johanna has performed in the Greensboro music scene in various roles as both backup singer and solo artist and is proud that her EP was written, performed, and produced entirely by women–herself and fellow artist/producer Quilla. Johanna is a native of Maine and came to Greensboro to attend Guilford College. She enjoys stand-up comedy and trail-running in the triad and works at local outfitter The Great Outdoor Provision Company.

SunQueen Kelcey is a Singer/Songwriter, Self-Taught Guitarist, Emcee, Entrepreneur and 2017 recipient of the R&B Artist of the Year Award for The Bloc Awards. Her debut album, “The SunQueen,” was released on October 4th, 2018 and is available now for streaming and purchase on all major music platforms. Kelcey is a North Carolina native who promotes Self-Love, Sexual Freedom and Social Justice. She empowers women to love themselves, people to love each other, and pushes herself to live her best life through music.

Formerly the lead vocalist of R&B/Rap group Dalton Village, Kelcey has returned to performing with a full band after spending time as a solo artist. Her music blends Soul, Folk and Hip-Hop into a genre she recently coined “Soul-Folk.” Together with guitarist Kolin Robinson from Dalton Village, her band “SunQueen and the Soular Flares” deliver high-energy performances with Kelcey’s powerful vocal range, killer guitar riffs, smooth bass grooves and songs that quickly become crowd favorites. SunQueen Kelcey and her band currently have a residency to perform the last Tuesday of every month at Joymongers Brewing Co. in downtown Greensboro, NC.

Tickets are $8 in advance; $10 day of show. (sale tax is included in the price of each ticket.)
