Part of our 12th Annual Summer Film Fest!

When wholesome exchange student Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) meets leather-clad Danny (John Travolta), they have a summer romance, but will it cross clique lines? Travolta solidified his position as one of the most versatile and magnetic screen presences of the decade in this film version of the smash hit play Grease. Australian recording star Olivia Newton-John made her American film debut as Sandy, his sweet—albeit naïve—love interest. The impressive supporting cast reads like a “who’s who” in this quintessential musical about the fabulous ’50s. Grease is not just a nostalgic look at a simpler decade—it’s an energetic and exciting musical homage to the age of rock ‘n’ roll!

Directed by Randal Kleiser. Starring John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, and Stockard Channing. 1978. Rated PG-13. One hour, 50 minutes.

The Carolina Theatre’s 12th Annual Summer Film Festival is presented with the Deuterman Law Group.
