Evening Crane Theatre: Manfred and Cain by Lord Byron
The Evening Crane Theatre presents a 200th anniversary touring production of two plays by Lord Byron: the darkly romantic Manfred (1817) and the mystery play Cain (1821). Directed by Michael Seebold.
The Summer Southern Tour reaches Greensboro NC on May 21st, at The Crown at The Carolina Theatre. Join us for this special anniversary production to mark two centuries since the publication of Byron’s signature tale of the necromantic Manfred and his dead beloved, Astarte.
Comments Director Michael Seebold: “The particular combination of Manfred and Cain brings together Byron’s darkest and most enigmatic verse dramas for an evening of terror and gothic romance.”
The double-header production runs for two hours, and features frightening scenes which may not be suitable for young children.
