About The Polar Express
A young boy lies awake in his room one snowy Christmas Eve, excited and alert, breathing silently, hardly moving, waiting. He’s listening for a sound he’s afraid that he might not hear—the ringing bells of Santa’s sleigh. The time is five minutes to midnight when the boy is startled by a thunderous roar. Clearing the mist from his window he sees the most amazing sight: a gleaming train rumbles to a stop right in front of his house. The boy rushes outside, wearing only his pajamas and slippers, and is met by the train’s conductor who seems to be waiting just for him. “Well, are you coming?” the conductor inquires. “Where?” the boy asks. “Why, to the North Pole, of course. This is the Polar Express!” 2004, Rated G, 1 hour and 40 minutes.

THIS IS A NON-TICKETED EVENT; FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.

Doors will open at 9:00am for Christmas at the Carolina; carols start on the stage at 9:30am, followed by the movie. Seating is limited. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Stay downtown and catch the holiday parade afterward!

Christmas at the Carolina guests are asked to consider bringing a new,
unwrapped toy to Christmas at the Carolina for Fox 8’s Gifts for Kids.
The Gifts for Kids program helps more than 20,000 children in the
Piedmont at Christmas each year, with the Salvation Army distributing
gifts to families in need. NorthState is proud to present
Christmas at the Carolina and support Gifts for Kids.
